This is an anthology of original short stories and poems which were entered into the 2015 writing competitions run and judged by the Swansea and District Writers Circle. These original works are a range of genres and form an enjoyable mix to pick up and peruse as leisure.

A great mix of stories to pick up between tasks and read through.

the perfect companion to a journey or a quiet night in.

Horror Anthology – Dark Gathering

A rich medley of short stories, poetry and scripts, some penned by newcomers, others by well known writers, set alongside the work of the winners of our annual short story, script and poetry competitions.

Copies of Dark Gathering are available on Amazon, priced £2.99 for the Kindle version and £7.99 for the paperback.
Edited by Circle member Gail Williams it includes the best entries from the group’s 2016 Horror Writing Competition, which were chosen by three award-winning Welsh authors: novelist Catrin Collier (author of more than 50 novels, including the BBC-dramatized Hearts of Gold series), poet Sally Spedding (twice winner of the Anglo-Welsh Poetry competition, among others) and scriptwriter Rob Gittins (the longest-serving writer on Eastenders).

Stories from Circle members also feature in the anthology, including a short story by established horror writer Steve Lockley (whose credits include Dr Who: Tales of Martha) and a script by playwright Norman Robbins. The cover artwork was created by Welsh artist Steve Upham of Screaming Dreams.
