About us

Welcome to Swansea and District Writers' Circle

SDWC is all about promoting the study of the art of writing in all its aspects. We really are, it says so in our constitution.

We have an eclectic mix of members: those who write for pleasure, those who write for publication but are still awaiting the profit, those who write for a living (lucky souls), those who edit, those who just enjoy reading. From those who left school as soon as possible to those with Masters Degrees (some even in creative writing) – we even have doctors (some the type who have access to drugs). Okay, so I’m exercising my sense of humour; the point is, it takes all sorts, and variety is the spice of life, so everyone is welcome.

Set up in 1954, we’re still going strong and enjoy a loyal membership. We love to welcome new members, so if you have an interest in writing then we’re interested in you — come join us.

We’re happy to see you, and hope you find everything you need here; but if you have any questions about what we are about and what we do, contact us and we’ll do all we can to assist you.
